The town of New Castle, adjacent to Portsmouth, is actually an island, and is surrounded on all sides by water (you guessed that by the island mention, didn’t you?) On one end there’s the Wentworth by the Sea, and on the other the Great Island Common – as pretentious a name as you can get, but still a lovely park with a great view.
There’s a little beach, a cement side-walked breakwater, and a great view of Portsmouth harbor.
