When Lauren and Ryan got married on Easton's Beach in Newport, RI, they reserved a carousel there for portraits with the wedding party. I had an elaborate shot in mind with the carousel turning, my lights firing right at the end of the exposure, and motion trails and spinning horses.
While we were doing that, Lucia climbed onto the carousel and did what she does best: she hid; she waited; and she captured this magnificent and unplanned moment. This is my favorite image of their wedding, and it's totally Lucia.
