Champagne Spray at the Colony

Alec and Alysson's wedding at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, ME had so many memorable pictures, but this last shot of the day may be my favorite.

Do we do this at every wedding? No! It takes a really fun couple. Alec and Alysson were that couple.

We grab a couple of un-opened bottles of champagne from the bar, head outside, and then back-light the couple as they open and shake their bottles. If the flash isn't behind the couple, you'll never see the drops in the air.

We do this at the end of the night, when the couple is probably hot and sweaty anyway, so they don't mind as much if they end up with a little bubbly on their skin. And it makes a really great last page in a wedding album!
