Fireworks at the Red Barn
This is the second of my favorite images from Gabby and Steve's wedding, and that's remarkable because it rained on their wedding day, on the first day of April when it was freezing cold outside.
This was my last shot of the night. The Red Barn was doing fireworks, and the sky was threatening to go from rainy to lightning. Gabby and Steve stood outside of the covered tent to get the best view, under a clear umbrella.
I put a flash on the ground in front of them, and angled up towards their heads so I could silhouette them inside the umbrella. Once I had the exposure dialed in, I just needed to wait for the perfect moment during the finale when fireworks would fill the image.
It wasn't planned, but I love that the flag is still visible at the top of the pole, O'er the rockets red glare, and the fireworks bursting in air, as the song goes.
