Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott

This is from a styled shoot we did for a magazine, Real Maine Weddings, at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. They do an incredible job decorating for the holidays there, and the magazine wanted to showcase this decor.

The magazine had selected some vendors for me to work with (including Andrea's bridal and formal which provided the dress and tux!), but the day before the shoot the bakers the magazine chose offered me a Styrofoam cake off a display shelf, and said they were too busy to create something for the shoot.

I reached out to my friend Jessica Parrott, whose company, Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott, makes some of the most delicious cakes and cupcakes in Maine. I knew she'd be incredibly busy, but I asked her for a last minute favor. Could she bake me a holiday themed wedding cake by the morning?

It was a huge favor, but she stayed at her oven all night, and in the morning I had this cake for my photoshoot! And this image was featured in the magazine.
