Emily and Nick had the most interesting wedding of the year 2020, and I’m certain they didn’t want that title!
After postponing their summer wedding till November because of Covid, they were hesitant to move their date again this fall. They cut their guest list from 175 down to 100, but as the wedding approached, restrictions in Maine allowed only 50 guests at a reception (regardless of the size of the venue).
And here’s where it gets interesting. Instead of postponing again, or halving their guest list, Nick and Emily (and their planner Fausto Pifferrer from Blue Elephant Events and Catering) opted to have TWO wedding receptions – an afternoon reception with mostly family, and an evening reception filled with friends.
Just writing that sounds like a long day. They also had a full mass at the beautiful Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland, and in between the two receptions, they went adventuring around downtown with Lucia and I looking for fun spots for couple’s portraits.
And as a quick shout to anyone planning a wedding in Maine, Ocean Gateway has the best view of Casco Bay there is.
Check out the vendor list at the bottom for links to all the talented people who made this wedding work, and give Emily and Nick some love in the comments.
OMG !!!! Number 1…. you look absolutely lovely. Nana is watching every move and glowing in heaven! My favorite picture is the close up head shot of the two of you! So many emotions going through my mind! I love Matt being with the Bridesmaids! I’m homesick looking at all the Portland sights! The Cathedral must have had a huge make over since John’s passing! I hardly recognized the place. A special place in the hearts and souls of the Davis clan. I’m sitting here in tears. Your ” team” did a magnificent job at making this a beautiful wedding under these strange crazy times. Nick looks like such a Teddy Bear!!! I can’t wait to wrap my arms around him! Thank you honey for sharing these with me! I don’t know if I can save to my photos. I don’t have a computer and there are so many I would love to have! Be happy honey and just love each other and make wonderful memories! All your hard work and tears paid off!!!God bless you both and may He hold you in the palm of His hand❤️Aunt Gail
