When we first met Rachel and Tommy they were thinking about getting married a year later than they did, but that was before they toured the Newagen!
Rachel told me that as soon as they saw it, they moved up all their plans, as they couldn’t wait to show all their friends and family this amazing destination.
They were blessed with perfect weather, and an incredibly fun party. Here are just a few of our favorite images. Thanks for looking – Will.
Before The Ceremony
This is two pictures, and I didn’t realize until I looked at this post later that it looks a little like the front door of the Seahorse Cottage goes right into the bathroom. Awkward placement, my fault. On the left, the name of the cottage; on the right, the view into the bath from the bedroom. BUT, look at that bathroom! Clawfoot tub; wainscotting; pebble wall; and a chandelier for your dress. You’re going to want to hang your dress there now, and I’m going to want to photograph it, so let’s talk!I love the details in these and the next few getting ready pictures. Rachel’s leaf and crystal hair vine? Amazing. This shot of the fixing spray? You can kind of imagine being there, right? These two and their sunglasses! This is a moment just before the first look, with Tommy hanging out by the main inn, and Rachel stashed around the corner. This shot, by photographer Phoebe Parker who was working with me, is so candid-feeling because she was shooting between branches, leaving us (the viewers) to have this stalker-like view. I’m obsessed.
The First Look
This view of the harbor, docks, and islands, is right on the property of the Newagen Seaside Inn. It’s a quintessential Maine spot. When you see the ceremony pictures, these boats are in the background.

Ceremony
The Newlywed Post: Rachel and Thomas are getting married!Stop it! If you don’t take at least a moment to consider how unbelievable a wedding ceremony on this lawn would be, we can’t be friends. I asked Phoebe to stay way back from the ceremony to capture this shot, and you can see me on the far right!
The Reception
The dining room at the Newagen Seaside Inn is open and airy, and a perfect spot for wedding receptions.Rachel’s florist, MidCoast Blooms, brought me a bag with some ribbons and flowers just for this type of picture. Genius, right?Sunset pictures on the rocks behind Rachel’s cabinSouthport, ME wedding venue Newagen Inn has these rocks just below the cabins.
Toasts (Roasts?)
The College Shot | I’m not sure this image is going to get published in the Alumni Newspaper….
Sparkler Send Off
This totally looks like the couple is lit by the sparklers, right? I owe this shot to a guest who’s name I don’t know, but he’s standing to the left of everyone (you can kind of see his face), and he’s holding a flash on a boom pole for me, shining a light right on Rachel and Tommy. ‘Guy who held the flash’, which is what I call him, Thank You!
Vendor Credits
Rachel and Tommy chose some great wedding vendors to make this event all come together:
