They say it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day, and so Gabby and Steve are really lucky!
But that didn’t stop them. It was cold, it was wet, and yet they still went to the beach for their first look! They had a few dry minutes around their ceremony, and then towards the end of the night, when their fireworks were about to start, it rained again. And Gabby and Steve stood outside in the rain (and lightning) and watched their fireworks.
Here’s a handful of things to look for in their pictures: Portland’s Ocean Gateway for the ceremony; Gabby’s grandfather performed the ceremony; the Red Barn at Outlook Farm for the reception; the incredibly entertaining band Men In Black; and fireworks, in the rain! I hope you like the pictures – Will

Steve, certain that it always rains in Cape Elizabeth
I know what’s going through your mind – why the heck did the photographers take them to the beach on a rainy day in April? And the answer is, we’re definitely not rugged enough to have suggested this – Steve and Gabrielle are just tough and determined. We actually did their engagement shoot there, on what should have been a snowy day, when it was also freezing cold and raining.

Gabby made all the flowers herself – from books!
The Wedding Ceremony
The Pastor who performed the wedding ceremony is also Gabrielle’s grandfather! That’s right, confetti. Everywhere.
Pictures After The Ceremony
This shot is one of my favorite rainy day shots ever! I’m so grateful the wedding party had white and black umbrellas!
