Mykaela and Matt were originally planning to have their wedding ceremony up on the mountain at Sugarloaf, but one of the lifts wasn't working. So just the family and wedding party went up to this spot, and the view was beautiful!

Mykaela and Matt’s Enchanting Wedding at Sugarloaf Ski Resort

Nestled in the heart of Carrabassett Valley, Maine, the Sugarloaf Ski Resort provided the perfect backdrop for Mykaela and Matt’s unforgettable wedding day. From their heartfelt private vows midway up the mountain to the lively reception in the King Pine Ballroom, this celebration was nothing short of magical.

The Welcome Party

The wedding weekend began with a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the Widow’s Peak restaurant, and was followed by a welcome party for everyone attending.  We seldomly encourage rehearsal photo coverage, but if you’re having a party, you’re going to want us there!

The Wedding Day

The day began with Mykaela and Matt getting ready in the luxurious suites at the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel, where excitement and anticipation filled the air. Thanks to the incredible talents of Hair Razer, Mykaela looked stunning in her Ann Mila Designs gown, perfectly complemented by the elegant floral arrangements from Anne Clark. The couple’s love story unfolded beautifully, creating an inspiring atmosphere for everyone in attendance.

First Look

Matt and his men took the quad lift up the mountain in the morning, and we got to the top we could see…nothing.  We were completely fogged in, just 30 minutes before Mykaela was supposed to arrive for their first look.  I was nervous we wouldn’t have any sort of a background, but Matt’s Dad Terry suggested the fog would burn off, and he was right!

The Ceremony

The ceremony, officiated by Phil Libby, was held at the base of the mountain on the iconic brick patio known as The Beach. Under the vast Maine sky, surrounded by lush greenery and a serene mountain backdrop, Mykaela and Matt exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends.

Cocktail Hours

Guests got to enjoy an extended cocktail and mingling period that was two hours, so we would have time for a receiving line, lots of arranged family pictures, and a little more alone time for the couple.

For their photoshoot, we explored the scenic mountain slopes. Family pictures were taken at the base of the mountain, while the couple’s portraits captured breathtaking views up high, with dramatic fog adding a romantic and ethereal quality to the images. These moments highlighted not only their love but also the unique beauty of the venue.

The Reception

The reception, held in the King Pine Ballroom, was a perfect mix of elegance and fun. With music by Rich DiMare and the Ron Poster Trio, guests danced the night away to classic American Standards and lively DJ sets. Delicious desserts from Gelato Fiasco added a sweet touch to the evening, while Sugarloaf’s venue coordinators, Taylor and Katie, in conjunction with Event Planner Brenda Brochu and her team, ensured every detail was flawless.

It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
