I’m really excited to show off the images from this wedding!
A quick intro. When Chantelle and Scott (who live in Boston) first started looking for a wedding venue, they looked North of the city. First in Portland (a town they love to escape to), then in Portsmouth. Then they ruled Boston out.
Chantelle wanted a unique space, grand and elegant and full of history, and with interesting architecture, and she wanted it all in a vibrant neighborhood. She found it in Providence, at the historic Biltmore hotel, which is being renovated and renamed.
The Biltmore became the Graduate Providence, and kept all of the charm of the classic hotel, but updated everything inside it. The furniture is new and swanky; the rooms are fabulous and college-themed; and the hotel is smack downtown in Providence. Well worth a visit.
The ceremony was held on the 4th floor rooftop; the reception on the 18th floor ballroom (!); and the outdoor shots of Chan and Scott were at the park across the street. I hope you like the images – Will.
Chantelle
Roberta and Danielle (Chantelle’s sister and mom) helped her into her gown.Even as a wedding photographer, when I hear cathedral-length veil, I sometimes forget just how regal that much tulle is!We work weddings from Rhode Island up to Bar Harbor, ME. I’ve never seen another hotel that has a room like this for portraits. I’m totally in love with the Graduate Hotel!

The First Time Scott Saw Chantelle On Their Wedding Day
This is the second floor of the lobby. There’s a glass elevator behind Chantelle and Scott. Sadly, it’s no longer operational. After the couple’s pictures, Chantelle and Scott stopped for a quick drink with Danielle. Just a pick-me-up before the family photos.
Groups
I won’t subject you to all the groups, just Chan and Scott with the D’Angelos (above) and the full bridal party (below). But I just had to show you this room again!!!
The Ceremony
The bridesmaids looking down onto the ceremony sitePaul walks a very-happy Chantelle down the aisleThis photo is only here in this post because everyone is reading from their cell phones. It’s kind of like an Iphone ad! Not something that Father Primo would have done when Lucia and I got married 🙂This is on the roof of the Providence Graduate hotel, You can see Providence Place and Nordstrom in the background!
The Reception
Do you think Chantelle and Scott drank hundreds of bottles of wine to get all those corks? I definitely wouldn’t put it past them. They deserve a golf clap if they did – I’ll find out and update the post. This is how every bridal party should greet the couple at their entrance – screaming, yelling, and high-fiving.Chantelle and Scott’s first dance. You really get a feel of the scale of the ballroom in this image. This is on the 18th floor of the Graduate, overlooking downtown Providence. And that’s the way you end a first dance!Chantelle jammed a little with The Party FactorHere’s two unusual angles I use a lot. This one is shot looking up from knee-level, and the image below is shot from far overhead.Fireworks over the capital building at the end of the night.
Did you like those? It was a really fun wedding. Actually, it was a fun weekend, as most of the guests (and us as photographers) were in Providence Friday to Sunday. There was a great rehearsal dinner on Friday, a breakfast on Sunday morning, and after the reception, an after-party at a bar just around the corner (we didn’t photograph that, but it was fun).
And couples getting married at the Graduate – please consider Focus Photography. We loved working there!!!
EVENT CREDITS
This was a super fun wedding, and the Biltmore did most of the work. Here's a few other vendors I should call out.
