Margaret and Bill’s wedding at Wentworth by the Sea was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled in the heart of New Castle, New Hampshire, this venue exudes timeless elegance and coastal charm, making it the perfect backdrop for their love story. From the serene marina suites to the lush gardens, every detail of the day reflected their personalities and the beauty of the location.
This was a two day event, and on the night before the wedding the couple threw a lobster bake that was Jaws themed. I’d love to show you all the picture of the glass sharks and movie-themed cakes, but there’s just too many pictures from the wedding I need you to see, so I’m only showing the wedding here. And when you see the glass shark with jewelry on it (hand-created on the island of Murano outside Venice Italy), just know there were a dozen others in different colors on the tables for the welcome party.
Before diving into the details, I want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible team that brought this vision to life: Megan from Willow Tree Events worked her magic as the wedding planner, ensuring everything ran smoothly. DJ Jay LaBella kept the party alive well into the night. And, of course, the dedicated staff at Wentworth by the Sea made every moment unforgettable. I’ll put a complete vendor list at the bottom. Now, let’s take a closer look at Margaret and Bill’s special day!
The welcome party was Jaws themed (yes, the movie!), and had shark centerpieces. This great white is holding most of the jewelry Margaret would eventually wear for her wedding.
Morning Preparations: Love in the Details
The morning began with excitement and joy as Margaret got ready in the charming Marina Suites. Surrounded by her bridesmaids, laughter and happy tears filled the room. Meanwhile, Bill prepared in the Admiral Suite, with sweeping views from the top of the hotel, setting a relaxed yet sophisticated tone for his day. Both spaces perfectly highlighted the luxury and elegance that Wentworth by the Sea offers its couples.
First Look: A Garden of Emotions
Margaret and Bill’s first look took place in the breathtaking gardens of the Wentworth. As Bill turned to see Margaret, his face lit up with emotion—a moment so tender and heartfelt, it’s hard to put into words. The lush greenery and ocean breeze created an intimate and picturesque setting for their first moments together.
Ceremony on the Lower Lawn: A Romantic Celebration
Their ceremony was held on the lower lawn of the gardens. With single-stem roses lining the aisle and a light breeze, the atmosphere was straight out of a movie. Particularly if the movie was field of dreams, as woven into the romantic theme was baseball.
At the ceremony location was the home plate from the 2018 Red Sox world series victory, and at the start of the aisle (exactly 60 feet and 6 inches away) was the pitchers plate from the same game at Fenway Park. It’s true.
Just as they exchanged their vows, a few gentle raindrops fell, adding an extra touch of magic to their commitment to one another. This New Hampshire wedding ceremony was a perfect blend of romance and natural beauty.
60′ 6″ away, just as they were at Fenway park during the 2018 World Series (the Red Sox won).Just before cocktails, we created one more portrait of Bill and Margaret, with Bill’s kids Willis and Josie. You’ll see them a lot in the dance pictures.
Dinner Reception: The Wentworth Ballroom
Margaret and Bill’s reception was split between two elegant spaces. Dinner was served in the Wentworth Ballroom, where single-stem roses and romantic lighting set a sophisticated tone. Guests enjoyed heartfelt toasts and an exquisite meal as they celebrated the newlyweds.
The Party: The Wentworth Grand
The real party began in the Grand Ballroom, where a white dance floor and purple uplighting transformed the space into a vibrant celebration. DJ Jay LaBella had everyone on their feet, from the first song to the last. It was clear that Margaret and Bill’s love brought so much joy to everyone in attendance.
There was a little parade heading down to the Grand, and Margaret and Bill took the opportunity to change into second outfits. And then there was dancing. And if you’ve ever seen a wedding Lucia and I have shot before, you’ll know that we love crazy dance pictures. Lit with the portable sunshine we bring, you’ll see the expression on everyone’s faces, without losing the feeling of the room.
That’s right, the elegant Grand Ballroom got funky for a night. Pink Tie Productions provided the lounge furniture, and Mix Lux provided the lights. This image perfectly captures the vibe of the Grand ballroom with it all loung-ified! So cool.
Thank You to the Amazing Vendors
