On a day when the winds blew at over 40 miles an hour and November’s temperatures plummeted much too quickly, Erica and Ben got married at the Wentworth by the Sea, and no one went outside unless they absolutely had to.
On sunny summer days, any wedding venue with a lawn seems perfect, but when the weather becomes inclement a venue is put to the test. Here’s something amazing that happened. Erica and Ben’s ceremony, with over 150 people attending, was held in the same ballroom as her reception. Most receptions are set up the night before, and the florist and planners have plenty of time to set the room. At this wedding, they tore down a ceremony setup, set the room, built a dance floor and a stage for the band and got them set up, and did it all in just the cocktail hour!
Here’s some of my favorite things about the wedding that you should look for: Erica had two wedding dresses (!!!); the start of the ceremony aisle is the exact spot that the parquet dance floor is during the first dance; Erica’s father Tim acted as the wedding officiant and married them (!!!); the band Rip Cord kept the party rocking; and Ben and Erica were like magnets that just needed to be close to each other.
