April in Maine can be unpredictable. It might snow, it might rain, and more often than not, it’s too chilly to even think about getting married outside. But when Dawn and Andy told us they were planning a seaside ceremony at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine, we crossed our fingers for a bit of that early spring magic — and that’s exactly what they got. Their wedding photography at the Samoset started with soft ocean breezes and a sky that looked like it had been painted just for them.

Their ceremony was held not fifty feet from the edge of Penobscot Bay, and while the air still had that crisp coastal feel, no one seemed to notice. All eyes were on the couple and the stunning view behind them. After the ceremony, we explored the grounds for portraits. The Samoset offers an incredible mix of manicured lawns, rocky coastline, and elegant interiors — ideal for a couple who wants both classic and coastal wedding pictures. Back inside the ballroom, their reception brought together warmth, laughter, and plenty of dancing. Even in early spring, the energy was full-on summer celebration.
