April is usually the last month we shovel snow in Maine, but sometimes winter goes all the way until May. It’s also the start of our wedding season, which often means full wedding days photographing in hotel lobbies and ballrooms, and not creating an outdoor image for the whole month.
So imagine our surprise when Dawn and Andy told us they were planning on having an outdoor ceremony in the Midcoast, not 50 feet from the water’s edge – the day before Easter! We hoped they had a good backup plan.
They probably did, but they might also have known they wouldn’t need it. Some couples are just charmed. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a little breezy by the water, but I don’t think anyone noticed. We were all too caught up in what a great day it was for a wedding, and how beautiful the view of Penobscott Bay is from the Samoset.
I hope you enjoyed the images. Hey, this is a new format for me – I’d love to hear what you think of it. And thanks for looking – Will
